071- It's Christmas & I'll Cry If I Want To
Host Sam and co-host Anthony discuss happy holidays, or maybe not so happy...
A re-issue of episode 19 as it pertains to the holidays.
Seasonal depression happens around the time of the holidays, and most people are too busy trying to make it happy that they either don't confront their own sadness or run into someone who is having feelings and finds it difficult to create space. There are a multitude of reasons that grief can show up during the holidays and each reason is valid. These feelings lead many to think that they have to suppress their emotions to make everyone else in the house happy, when instead it's important to feel it to heal it.
During these holidays, family loss, loss of traditions, and even multiple holiday gatherings where before there were only one are all valid reasons to grieve. Even ancestral trauma can be a factor; things happened before we started our own holiday traditions and they can be passed on. Whatever the reason for grief during the holiday seasons, we want to give you the gift of being able to feel the grief and move through it when you are ready.
